Sociology, Political Science, Cultural Studies, Philosophy and Economics
Eighteen interdisciplinary research themes explore contemporary social structures, politics, cultural memory, philosophy, economics, inequality and changing knowledge systems.
Programme Overview
This interdisciplinary research programme integrates sociology, political science, cultural studies, philosophy and economics within a coherent eighteen-month course of advanced study. Its five fields provide complementary approaches to social structures, political institutions, collective memory, the foundations of knowledge and economic transformation.
Eighteen research themes encompass 108 precisely defined chapters. The curriculum moves from classical theory and contemporary research methods to comparative politics, cultural identities, social inequality, global markets, the philosophy of technology and the ethics of future societies.
Research activities include comparative inquiry, the interpretation of quantitative and qualitative evidence, the evaluation of public institutions and the design of original interdisciplinary research. The concluding theme brings together philosophy, economics and doctoral research design.
